Aging With Chutzpah

I’m a sucker for physical comedy. My favorite SNL character is Sally O’ Malley.

When Sally O’ Malley caught my attention in 2004, I was a recent postpartum mom and drowsily nursing my daughter. I couldn’t tell if I was depressed or just plain exhausted.

I recently turned 50!! Many have asked me how I feel.

I feel AWESOME!! I’m right where I want to be.

I don’t have any lofty goals or personal growth milestones to achieve. I paddle on the same river everyday without feeling the monotony of bliss that nature offers. I walk the same shaded blocks of my neighborhood with Artemis.

I have only healthy relationships in my life. I feel an abundance of joy even when I feel the misplaced grief of five decades of living.

A friend asked me, “Do you have any bucket list items?” My response was, “Nurturing relationships is the most important thing to me. And I do this everyday.”

Sally O’ Malley embodies the emotional and physical chutzpah I aspire to. Her sass and confidence to be is how I choose to live.

“I like to kiiiick, streeeetch, and kick!” for many more years ahead.

Taking care of yourself on multiple levels is the key to aging with chutzpah!

May you take good care of yourself everyday. Your health, emotional physical and spiritual, is THE largest investment you can make to ensure a fulfilling life.
